Job Description:

• Participate in Canada's Local Journalism Initiative, producing civic journalism for underserved communities in Huntsville and Lake of Bays.
• Produce a minimum of 5-7 stories weekly for muskokaregion.com, with content available to other Metroland outlets.
• Contract ends March 31, 2027; must live in Huntsville area for interviews and photography.

Qualifications:

• Journalism degree or equivalent preferred; keen to work independently in a virtual newsroom.
• Strong interviewing, social media, AI, and online journalism skills, with excellent writing and communication.
• Proven news judgment, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
