Senior Software Developer

Join Observable's small engineering team as a Senior Software Developer. You'll design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software. Be part of a close-knit engineering team that ships new code into production multiple times a day. This role involves technical design, architecture, and coding across the full stack from API to frontend, using TypeScript, Node, Postgres, React, and Nextjs. The work spans from API (TypeScript, Node, Postgres) and frontend (TypeScript, React, Nextjs) to dev tooling and infrastructure (Cloudflare edge workers, Heroku, S3, Docker). You will write code, create reliable and sustainable systems, and develop prototypes quickly. You will also take initiative, prioritize and manage workloads, and meet project deadlines in addition to empathizing with Observable's users and nurturing the quality of their experience as much as you do the quality of the code.
