Job Description

Produce and deliver high-quality, verbatim transcripts of depositions, hearings, and legal proceedings. Use CAT software (e.g., Case CATalyst, Eclipse) and digital audio tools to scope, proofread, and finalize transcripts. Ensure all work complies with California court reporting requirements, procedural rules, and industry best practices. Appear for live proceedings in a certified stenographic capacity as needed. Manage and supervise a team of court reporters, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of proceedings. Oversee daily and master schedules for court reporters, ensuring coverage for all assigned matters. Conduct quality control reviews of transcripts, formats, and procedural compliance. Consult on transcript formatting, compliance questions, and workflow improvements. Maintain and oversee the creation and secure storage of official court records. Participate in strategic planning, including recruitment, resource allocation, and process optimization for the court reporting unit. Onboard and train new reporters, providing guidance on California-specific practices. Foster professional growth through ongoing education and development initiatives. Implement strategies to support staff retention and performance excellence. Audit transcript orders, reporter invoices, and procedural workflows for accuracy and efficiency. Address and resolve issues related to performance, procedural compliance, and client satisfaction.
