Senior Safety Engineer

The Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the VCS in all deployed environments. This is a full-time remote position for six months, converting to part time for the remainder of the multi-year contract. Up to 25% CONUS travel may be required. The Senior Safety Engineer will apply FAA safety protocols and frameworks to this particular effort by implementing and managing the contractor’s VCS safety program. The selected candidate will begin by developing several related written plans for FAA approval that comply with the FAA Air Traffic Organization Safety Management System Manual, the FAA System Safety Risk Management Guidance for Systems Acquisitions, and other applicable FAA publications, including Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Program Plan. Specific responsibilities include Identifying system safety hazards, preparing risk assessments, identifying safety dependencies, and recommending cost-effective risk mitigation strategies.
