Position Summary:

  • Responsible for facilitating improvement in quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
  • Works with treating providers to ensure accurate reflection of DRG, severity, and complexity.

Core Functions:

  • Reviews medical records and assists in clarification of documentation ambiguities.
  • Conducts concurrent record reviews and formulates compliant queries.
  • Educates customers through presentations and reports.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years hospital acute-care or relevant clinical experience.
  • Registered nurse with active licensure or foreign medical graduate with MD.
  • Preferred: CCDS, CDIP, CCS, or CPC certification.
