Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and provide analytical insight in relevant domains, including wildfire spread, consequence, and risk, vegetation dynamics, mitigation, structure loss, and climate change impacts.
- Implement scientific methodologies and develop new approaches to understanding fire, vegetation, built environment, and climate dynamics.
- Ensure our products accurately reflect state-of-the-art knowledge.
Science-to-Product Strategy:
- Work directly with software engineers, spatial wildfire analysts, and product leads to operationalize fire science.
- Lead development of next-generation data products and shape how insights are surfaced to users.
- Contribute to documentation, support transitions from manual to automated pipelines, and train colleagues on best practices.
External Communication:
- Represent the company to clients, at major conferences, and in peer-reviewed journals.
- Help translate complex modeling outputs into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders and policymakers.
- Secure external funding to support innovative R&D that expands scientific capacity and credibility.
