Job Description
The insurance representative is responsible for processing and monitoring unpaid insurance accounts. This includes third party insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and other government programs.
Responsibilities include: Preparing and submitting claims to payers electronically or by paper. Following up on outstanding insurance balances. Resolving denials and handling difficult account situations.
The position requires understanding of the entire revenue cycle and all state/federal billing requirements. It also requires to perform trend analyses, appeals and resolve low payment or underpaid accounts.
