What you will do:

  • Lead the Sysdig Threat Research Team, setting the research agenda, detection roadmap, and budget.
  • Make AI security research the center of gravity, covering model/agent abuse, prompt-layer attacks, and AI supply chain.
  • Own the detection content shipped to customers and the Falco community, with adversarial validation and quality metrics.

What you will bring with you:

  • 10+ years in security research or detection engineering, with 4+ years leading researchers and owning an agenda.
  • Original AI security research published or shipped, plus hands-on skills in Linux, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud internals.
  • Public body of work: CVEs, conference talks, open-source tools, and experience with capable adversaries.

What we look for:

  • Built a research capability from scratch at a company where you defined most of it.
  • Experience with APT actors, open-source stewardship, and AI security frameworks like MITRE ATLAS.
  • Research that is well-received by mainstream press, CERTs, or defenders.
