Operational Oversight & Incident Handling:

  • Oversee daily SOC operations and monitor alert and ticket queue health.
  • Act as Incident Commander during critical security incidents and lead communications.
  • Remove blockers and serve as the highest point of operational escalation.

Team Leadership & People Management:

  • Lead, coach, and develop SOC staff across multiple experience levels.
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1s focused on performance and career development.
  • Manage schedules, on-call rotations, and foster a collaborative team culture.

Process Governance & Operational Improvement:

  • Enforce use of approved playbooks and maintain operational compliance.
  • Analyze SOC metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement workflow improvements.
  • Partner with Detection Engineering to reduce false positives and mature SOC capabilities.
