As a Senior Build Systems Engineer, you will architect, optimise, and evolve Spotify's Bazel-based systems to enable efficient and developer-friendly workflows across the entire client platform stack. responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining Bazel-based build systems for Spotify’s client monorepo (iOS, Android, C++, Web) and leading improvements to build performance, remote caching, and incremental build reliability at scale.

You’ll sit within a cross-functional team of product, engineering, design, and insights working together to find opportunities, design experiments, and measure impact.

Build, own, and operate pipelines that generate foundational datasets used by hundreds of downstream users at Spotify. Evolve the end‑to‑end technical architecture of our data platform—driving decisions on modeling, orchestration, reliability, and cost. Design new, trustworthy datasets from a complex upstream ecosystem—partnering closely with other data/analytics engineers and data scientists to define clear contracts and representations.

In this role, you will lead a team that ensures that teams at Spotify can easily understand the security posture of their products and how to improve it. Your team develops and maintains our internal security platform to collect, analyze, and prioritize security findings from a variety of tools and systems. You’ll support a team of dedicated security and software engineers to help them grow and excel in their roles.

Lead a team of Engineers and collaborate with a product manager to define and shape a strong product roadmap and technical strategy. You will also be responsible for the backend system on call rotation that spans multiple squads across Home Foundation and the larger observability strategy for Home. Have direct influence in how home loads today, going beyond the single request load to incremental and pull to refresh loading paradigms that require close partnership with Experience mission.
