Job Description
This fellowship offers law students the chance to support the legal advocacy for forcibly displaced people. Student fellows gain knowledge and skills through training and legal work. The fellowship commitment is approximately 2-3 hours weekly, including training, mentorship, legal casework, and special projects. Fellows will be exposed to various cases, including family reunification, Special Immigrant Visas, and climate-related asylum claims. The fellowship involves work responsibilities tailored to the fellowβs interests, such as attending training, participating in skills-building exercises, and supporting direct legal representation. Fellows will also participate in 3-day trips to IRAPβs NYC office and possibly another location and will have their airfare, hotel, transportation, and food covered.
