Software Engineer, AI

The AI Engineering team at Foodsmart is at the heart of transforming how millions of people access personalized nutrition and care. From building conversational experiences and predictive models to optimizing personalized outreach, the team integrates intelligent systems across the entire member journey. The Senior AI Engineer will play a critical role in designing and deploying solutions that drive real-world impact—like tailoring communications, improving engagement, and reducing missed appointments. They will develop and maintain AI powered applications, collaborate with front-end engineers to design and implement APIs, and establish and uphold development practices, including code reviews and comprehensive testing. The role involves building and deploying models that power real-time personalization, such as dynamic marketing segmentation and smart outreach throttling. You will fine-tune foundational models to chatbots, eligibility screening, and appointment scheduling and collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to integrate AI into backend APIs and member-facing applications. Monitoring and iterating on model performance, data integrity, and user impact in production environments is also part of the role.
