Data Engineer

This position will strengthen the ability to deliver safe, equitable, and high-impact digital tools to those who need them most. The Data Engineer will play a key role in strengthening three critical areas of our work: 1.) our use of Gen AI to give low-income and vulnerable legal help seekers and their advocates new resources and tools to assert their rights, while ensuring equitable design, data privacy, and responsible AI use, 2.) our use of data to identify unmet legal needs, drive targeted outreach, and improve services in high-need areas, and 3.) our work to safeguard user privacy and security in an era of heightened risk for many communities we serve. This is a strategic, cross-functional role that blends technical execution with a commitment to ethical design and mission impact. The Data Engineer will collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design and execute on product roadmaps that leverage AI responsibly. The candidate will also work with managers to design dashboards and reports to communicate insights on user experience and product development. The candidate will also support ethical data policies and contribute to Pro Bono Net’s role as a trusted advisor on data and AI in civil justice innovation.
