Job Description
Database Engineering Role:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle 19c databases, including container and pluggable databases
- Create, refresh, rebuild, and restore databases using RMAN, Data Pump, and related utilities
- Document database architecture, configurations, and processes for lifecycle support and future replication
Responsibilities:
- Monitor database health, perform performance tuning, query optimization, and proactive maintenance
- Support application teams with database-related issues and new feature implementations
- Conduct capacity planning for storage, memory, and CPU resources to support growth and mission needs
Compliance and Security:
- Manage Database Security, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), access controls, and compliance with cybersecurity standards
- Ensure compliance with STIGs, RMF, and NIST 800-171 standards in collaboration with stake holders
- Develop and maintain SQL, PL/SQL,and Linux shell scripts for automation and reporting
