Full Stack Engineer - Trust and Safety

About the team & opportunity:

• Millions of people use Calendly to book meetings, and the Trust & Safety team keeps the platform safe without slowing anyone down.
• We protect hosts, invitees, and email/SMS providers, covering abuse prevention, deliverability, compliance, and messaging cost predictability.

A day in the life:

• Build and improve systems that detect and stop abuse across sign-up, booking, and messaging, including spam, phishing, bots, and fraudulent SMS traffic.
• Improve reliability, deliverability, and compliance of email and SMS notifications, and measure detection performance on real traffic before acting.
• Respond to active abuse during on-call, build tools for the Trust & Safety Operations team, and partner with Product, Operations, and Data.

What we need from you:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience at a SaaS or technology company, including building and running production systems.
• Strong backend skills with Rails, Node/TypeScript, Go, or comparable languages, plus comfort with relational databases and SQL.
• Analytical mindset, good judgment about trade-offs, clear communication, and skill with AI tools in engineering work.
