Senior Data Reliability Engineer

This role will enhance the reliability and observability of Calendly's data systems, working in technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, PostgreSQL, PgBouncer, Redis, and Datadog. You will build automation and tooling, and providing expertise, to support developers and their fleet of PostgreSQL databases and Redis instances. In addition, you will collaborate with development teams to help them reach their goals and spread best practices throughout the engineering organization, ensuring system uptime and playing a critical role in system recovery. We need from you: Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (especially GCP), distributed systems, observability and reliability best practices along with experience administering production databases, especially PostgreSQL. Hands-on experience in Helm, Kubernetes workloads, and custom K8s operators to build and support self-service database infrastructure and tooling. You should be an excellent communicator with eagerness to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and apply new skills with experience building and maintaining tools for internal development teams. You should have a keen eye for identifying and implementing database optimizations and experience successfully leading the execution of strategic projects.
