Having an understanding of the performance of current console generation and the ability to create all content needed for lighting is important. This includes textures, IES, HDR maps, materials, and scripts, working with artists, designers, and programmers to work through artistic and technical challenges, and experience with generating light-maps and baked lighting. Following Unreal Engine technical news and maintaining a high work ethic with self motivation are also important.
