Senior Patent Linguist/Translator for Latin American Spanish

Responsibilities:

• Perform copy-editing and on-demand translation tasks, taking ownership of deliveries for assigned accounts.
• Prepare and manage language materials like glossaries and style guides, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Coordinate with freelancers, agencies, and internal linguists, and test new vendors as required.

Experience and Skills:

• Fluent in English with native fluency in the target language, and 8+ years of translation/localization experience.
• Excellent knowledge of CAT tools like XTM and SDL Studio, and standard software like Windows and Office applications.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines, solve practical problems, and communicate effectively with clients and teams.

Education and Requirements:

• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in patent translation for fields such as Electricity, Computer Science, Chemistry, or Biology.
• Work experience in an IP law firm and patent knowledge is considered a plus for this role.
