Director of Development

The Director of Development at Surge Institute is a strategic leader responsible for advancing Surge’s fundraising goals. This role involves administering fundraising appeals, donor cultivation, stewardship, and campaigns, while also managing grant writing and institutional relationships. The Director collaborates across departments to secure resources for achieving strategic goals. Key responsibilities include writing grant proposals, collaborating on institutional partner strategy, gathering program data, and managing the full grant lifecycle. The Director will also build relationships with donors, execute solicitation strategies, and implement stewardship systems. Administrative duties include maintaining forecasts, tracking donor data, and supporting the annual fundraising plan. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in nonprofit development or a related field, with a proven track record in grant writing, donor cultivation, and campaign execution.
