Product Development Engineer - Mass Timber Hardware

Product Development and Design:

• Develop new structural connection products from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and validation.
• Translate market needs, installation challenges, and structural requirements into practical product concepts.
• Perform engineering analysis and create CAD models to support development decisions.

Testing and Validation:

• Participate in laboratory research including specimen preparation, prototype installation, and failure-mode evaluation.
• Develop test plans, coordinate specimens and instrumentation, and analyze results to validate performance.
• Iterate designs based on testing outcomes and real-world construction requirements.

Collaboration and Project Leadership:

• Partner with engineers, operations teams, manufacturers, and research organizations across the product lifecycle.
• Lead R&D projects from initial concept through validation, managing priorities and schedules.
• Prepare clear technical documentation covering design decisions and project conclusions.
