Senior Accountant, Accounting Operations

The OppFi Controllership department is looking for a Senior Accountant eager to make a significant impact on our financial operations. In this role, you will be instrumental in our month-end close process, focusing on accurate and timely financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include the comprehensive preparation and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial statements. You will also contribute to complex technical accounting research and ensure the effectiveness of our internal control environment. As Senior accountant you will assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies and procedures. You will assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, suggesting process improvements. You will assist with coordination of external audits, quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by external auditors. You will also research relevant accounting guidance issued by FASB or the SEC, determining and documenting the appropriate technical accounting and reporting treatment. You will monitor changes to the company’s business processes, ensuring internal controls are implemented and being performed as established and completing ad-hoc accounting and reporting related projects as assigned by management.
