Senior AI Security Research Engineer

About the role:

• This role sits at the intersection of security engineering and applied AI, using frontier AI models to strengthen and stress-test security posture.
• It involves red-teaming cloud environments, validating firmware vulnerabilities, and securing applications for AI adversaries.
• This is a highly visible, org-wide role with a clear path to shape Samsara's AI security strategy.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver accurate, consistent security assessments of software, code, and firmware, evaluating resilience against AI-driven attacks.
• Create and translate general AI security findings into Samsara-specific fixes for application security.
• Build and pressure-test novel AI-enabled security tooling and workflows, driving adoption across the security org.

Minimum requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, or offensive security.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/LLM tools to real security workflows, including building with APIs, agents, or automation.
• Experience conducting security assessments across software and hardware/firmware environments.
