Role Overview:
- Senior backend engineer on the Security Factory: Code Security team, building analyzers and tooling.
- Work spans dependency analysis and vulnerability detection for code and open source components.
What You'll Do:
- Act as DRI for team initiatives, shipping with minimal guidance alongside the technical lead.
- Build hybrid analyzers combining rule-based detection with AI, and evaluate against benchmark applications.
What You Bring:
- Experience building LLM tooling and substantial professional coding in Go or Rust.
- Application security expertise, including OWASP, CWE, and software supply chain knowledge.
About the Team:
- Develops GitLab's code-level security scanning across SAST and dependency scanning.
- Relies on asynchronous collaboration across time zones.
