GIS Applications Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as subject matter expert on software and application development issues, supporting a team with requirements clarification.
• Lead development of an ArcGIS Pro extension integrating machine learning, natural hazard data, and vulnerability inventories.
• Collaborate with data scientists and data solutions professionals to fulfill requests for senior government officials.

Qualifications:

• Deep knowledge of Python and related libraries for data analytics; familiarity with R, SAS, SQL.
• Experience with cloud technology including AWS and ArcGIS Online; familiarity with Snowflake preferred.
• Knowledge of Esri products and services, data science tools like Tableau and Power BI.

About the Role:

• Split between leading software development using geospatial models and Python for agency situational awareness, and developing scripts/tools to optimize cartographic and data analytical activities.
• Requires an eagerness to learn and discover new data and techniques for innovative geospatial modeling applications.
• Currently holding or able to receive a Public Trust level of clearance; Bachelors degree in computer programming, GIS or related field; 5 years of experience.
