Director, Surety Underwriting

We are seeking an experienced leader in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, or surrounding states to lead a team of Surety underwriters. In this key leadership role, you will oversee a team of underwriters focused on contract surety business. You will be responsible for managing underwriting operations, mentoring staff, driving regional growth, and ensuring profitable performance in alignment with corporate goals. This leader will maintain a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values and uphold the standards of the AmTrust organization. Responsibilities include leading, coaching, and developing a team of contract surety underwriters, fostering a high-performance culture, managing regional underwriting results, and establishing and maintaining strong agency and broker relationships. You will also collaborate with senior leadership on regional strategy, market expansion, and competitive positioning, monitor industry trends and economic factors, and ensure compliance with underwriting standards.
