Engineer, Backend-Leaning Full Stack or Backend

Zapier's Workflow Zone is responsible for the core engine that powers their automation platform. As more teams and organizations depend on Zapier to automate critical workflows, they’re investing in scaling the capabilities, reliability, and intelligence of their core product experience. This role involves designing, implementing, and scaling Zapier’s execution engine to support millions of daily task runs with high reliability and low latency. Responsibilities include optimizing system performance, architecting core execution primitives, building resilient distributed systems on AWS, and collaborating with various teams on system design. The ideal candidate will have strong backend experience with Python, familiarity with AWS primitives, relational databases, and a proven ability to lead complex technical projects.
