Job Description

Motive is seeking a Reliability Engineer to oversee hardware reliability engineering throughout product development. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand product use cases and develop comprehensive reliability plans for designing and shipping reliable products. The engineer will be responsible for reliability specification development, test plan creation, test execution coordination, failure analysis, and risk assessments. Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end reliability for NPI products, driving DFMEA to identify early reliability risks, developing reliability specifications, creating reliability test plans, working with manufacturing partners on test execution, leading failure analysis, and providing clear summaries of reliability findings to aid design decisions.

The ideal candidate should possess a BS or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in hardware reliability engineering for consumer or automotive electronics. Familiarity with industry standards (MIL, SAE, IEC, ISO, JEDEC), experience with accelerated life tests (ALT), hands-on experience with reliability testing (vibration, environmental, mechanical shock, drop), basic understanding of reliability statistics (Weibull analysis), and strong project/supplier management skills are essential. Travel to partner sites (30%) is required, ASQ CRE certification is a plus.
