Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees and consultants to plan, coordinate, and supervise outside plant construction and splicing operations in multiple states.
  • Work with Finance and Legal departments to ensure proper accounting and mitigate risks in asset transfers and network negotiations.
  • Conduct pre-staking, pre-bid, and pre-construction meetings, and verify proper right-of-way, easements, permits, and cable designs.

Project Oversight:

  • Oversee numerous construction projects, monitoring costs, TDS standards, and job progress to ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
  • Schedule acceptance testing of new outside plant facilities and update facility maps and records post-construction.
  • Verify all network additions are included on local 'one-call' mapping systems and all required project documentation is complete.

Compliance and Development:

  • Audit OSP projects to ensure compliance with National Electrical Code, RUS, and TDS OSP standards, coaching Associate Managers and contractors.
  • Provide human resource management, including manpower apportionment, performance assessments, coaching, and recognition for personnel development.
  • Ensure the OSP group complies with Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines and coordinates with Network Planning, Rights-of-Way, and Contract Administration.
