Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpreting services for students who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing in academic and public settings.
  • Work remotely on an as-needed basis with evening and weekend flexibility.
  • Match language style to consumers and settings using academic ASL and high English register.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree or NAD-RID certification and completion of an Interpreter Training Program.
  • Required: Proficiency in ASL including academic ASL, and mastery of English spelling, grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Desired: Master's degree and significant post-secondary interpreting experience.
