Job Description
The Community Coordinator will be part of the team responsible for managing the day-to-day press operations, including evenings and weekends as needed, and serving as the spokespeople for the agency. Day-to-day press operations include responding to media requests, composing press releases, interview and event preparation documents, and talking points; promoting agency initiatives through pitching, supporting and attending media events; preparing DCWP staff for press interviews and events; and tracking relevant press coverage. Lead community events, including roundtables and business education days, and coordinate community engagement efforts with community and ethnic media. The coordinator will also work closely with elected officials, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, and business groups to plan and execute events.
