What You'll Do:
- Lead development of the AI economic plan, from first framework to final proposals.
- Identify key choice points and lay out clear, realistic options with trade-offs, costs, and precedents.
- Draft policy memos, option papers, and the plan itself.
Working with the Research Team:
- Turn policy options into concrete proposals for polling and message testing.
- Refine the plan based on what is popular, persuasive, and sound policy.
- Ensure survey questions describe policies accurately and compare alternatives fairly.
Expert & Government Engagement:
- Consult economists, policy experts, and policymakers to pressure-test ideas.
- Build relationships in federal and state government, especially in California.
- Brief leadership and partners on the plan and its evidence.
About You:
- Deep knowledge of economic policy and 7+ years of policy experience.
- Structured thinker who can break big questions into clear decisions.
- Exceptional writer and pragmatic collaborator.
