Principal, Global Event Security and Risk Management

Summary:

• The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Principal, Global Event Security and Risk Management to lead proactive risk mitigation for physical security of staff and community.
• This role coordinates with internal teams and external partners to identify and address threats, and strengthens enterprise risk management.

You are responsible for:

• Working closely with Wikimedia movement organizers to develop understanding of challenges and define best practices for physical security.
• Leading risk assessments for community conferences and events, consolidating input from multiple teams.
• Creating emergency response plans for physical security threats and managing implementation.

Skills and Experience:

• Substantial professional experience in corporate and physical security work, especially in global south contexts.
• Substantial risk management experience in a leadership role.
• Strong communication and analytical skills to synthesize geopolitical trends and impact on organization.
