The Deputy Chief Product and Technology Officer (Deputy CPTO) will report to and work with the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) to drive the development and execution of our technical platform strategy with our global communities. Succeeding in this environment will require taking a hands-on approach to connecting with a broad array of stakeholders and supporting the product and technology leadership team across diverse areas of specialization.

As part of our Legal team, you will help build and maintain safe, welcoming environments for the diverse global community of volunteers who create and curate free knowledge on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. You will play a critical role in reviewing, enhancing, and developing trust and safety policies.

Analyze and respond to legal requests and demands received by the Wikimedia Foundation. Track, prioritize, and escalate relevant cases to Wikimedia Foundation attorneys or Trust & Safety Specialists. Think holistically about legal workflows and identifying areas for improvement. Assist with technology regulatory compliance, including liaising across departments to gather information and documentation for annual audits.

Drive critical cross-functional programs, ensure strategic alignment of the work, and guide teams toward impactful outcomes. Act as a trusted thought partner and a hands-on execution-oriented driver, enabling teams to deliver complex programs with clarity, efficiency, and measurable results. Build strong cross-functional relationships and align diverse stakeholders around shared strategic objectives. Exhibit skills in navigating ambiguity with a flexible and adaptive approach.

Define and execute strategies for engaging young people (aged 18-25) on short form video platforms with Wikipedia, building and leading a dynamic team to create content and creative campaigns. This involves exploring and testing marketing strategies on platforms like TikTok, Reels, and YouTube, using metrics to improve audience resonance, and managing the social media team.

The Product Design team at Wikimedia is seeking a Lead UX Designer with an expert understanding of user experience and product development processes to work within our Apps team, supporting the Wikipedia iOS app and selected features on the Android app. You will lead all aspects of the user experience, partnering with the other product leads to conceive and execute upon the product strategy for your product team.

As a product engineer, you will be responsible for building out components for our product user experiences, working on a team that builds and improves tools for Wikimedia’s volunteer patrollers and administrators. You will work on upcoming projects to create a centralized place to organize moderation activities and fixing bugs for code that the team maintains.

Implement the regional funding programs serving Wikimedian communities in Latin America, overseeing grant proposal processes, managing communications, and providing guidance to grant applicants.

The Associate General Counsel will support the Deputy General Counsel in leading key functions in the Legal team, with specific focus on further refinement of privacy and product counseling workflows. The Associate General Counsel will be a hands-on leader with significant management experience, who will help to oversee and develop a talented legal team. The Associate General Counsel will also work closely with leadership, executive teams, and with external stakeholders.
