You will work with technology, academic, and non-profit organizations to ensure they have access to Wikimedia content and get the best from our products by building strong relationships throughout their journey with Wikimedia Enterprise, from onboarding to renewals. As an advocate for customers, you'll anticipate their needs to help them achieve their business goals.
In this role, you will work in a mostly-remote environment, where we value teamwork and close collaboration to achieve our goals. As an infrastructure software engineer, you will work closely with people in various teams to build new infrastructure capabilities into MediaWiki and maintain pieces of infrastructure software. Write resilient, maintainable systems and high-quality code with a focus on long-term sustainability and implement observability to maintain high levels of quality and system stability.
Shape the future of how Wikimediaβs vast data ecosystem serves both internal teams and the global community, helping drive the Data Platform Engineering teamβs effort to unify data systems across the Wikimedia Foundation to deliver scalable solutions that support internal and external platform users and the open knowledge movement.
Work in a mostly-remote environment as a software engineer on the Product Safety and Integrity Team. Proactively develop and maintain tools that empower communities to identify, mitigate, and prevent various forms of abuse across Wikimedia projects. Design privacy-conscious systems that detect behavioral patterns indicative of abuse, adapt abuse detection strategies, and collaborate with product managers and designers.
