Staff Software Build Engineer

Primary Function of Position:

• Design, build, and operate the next-generation unified build system across all robotic surgery platforms.
• Write code, debug real build failures, prototype infrastructure, and scale systems through direct technical contribution.
• Own core build architecture while remaining deeply involved in implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Bazel-based build systems for large-scale C/C++ embedded software.
• Implement and optimize Bazel Remote Caching and Remote Execution for fast, deterministic builds.
• Write production code in Rust, C/C++, and Python to support build tooling and infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Deep technical ownership with a bias toward implementation and measurable outcomes.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on Bazel expertise in complex C/C++ environments.
• Strong programming skills in Rust, C/C++, and Python with experience debugging distributed build systems.
