Engineering Student Intern, Summer 2026

The Athletic is accepting applications for its Leon H. Carter Internship Program for Summer 2026! This program aims to attract and develop the industry’s next stars. As an intern, you will be embedded on one of the Engineering teams, which will expose them to every facet of the team. They will work closely with one of our full time Engineers on a project designed by the team. Our Engineers support the intern to launch features and projects into production. As an Engineering Intern, you will work on project(s) designed by a mentor/ teammates, collaborate with Engineers to build the project, write clean/maintainable code, debug/troubleshoot issues, learn and apply new technologies, tools, and frameworks as needed and engage in team meetings, and stand-ups. Potential opportunities could involve working with Product, Design and other cross-functional disciplines.
