Job Description

The Specialist, Education & Advocacy Programs, is a new position in the Education and Advocacy Department. The role will support strategic initiatives and collaboration across five program areas: community, research & sanctuary animal welfare, advocacy, tour experience, and education. Strategic initiatives include supporting a national remote volunteering programing and “community changemaker pilots,” working with regional food system leaders to shift resources away from factory farming to support equitable, sustainable, plant-based food systems. The role will also feature significant collaboration with Communications and Marketing, supporting grassroots activation of our 2M+ followers, and Development, ensuring we have the resources needed to change hearts, minds, and systems. Responsibilities include supporting “community changemaker” pilot projects, coordinating a national remote volunteer “Community Action Network,” developing “Community Science Program” content, leading interdepartmental collaboration, facilitating collaboration among program teams and on-site staff, coordinating restricted funding commitments, supporting data collection and storytelling, and assisting in creating program guides.
