Primary Function and Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical expert for Intuitive Surgical's products, managing post-sale customer relations and technical escalations within an assigned territory.
- Coordinate system installations through pre-site planning and ensure maximum system functionality and reliability through independent scheduling of service appointments.
- Use independent judgment to assess system functionality, make repair decisions, and provide feedback to engineering teams for product enhancements.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- College degree in applied science or engineering or equivalent training and experience, with 5-10 years as a Field Service Engineer in the medical device industry.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems, maintain strong customer relationships with surgeons and hospital staff, and provide technical training support.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, along with strong administrative abilities and knowledge of operating room protocols.
Additional Information and Requirements:
- This role requires the ability to travel up to 25% based on account distribution and involves supporting sales training and marketing events.
- The position is remote, with employees coming onsite only when requested by leadership, and may be subject to U.S. export controls, requiring potential export licenses or technology control plans.
