We are seeking a Software Developer with 1-3 years of experience to take real ownership of production software and gain exposure to biomedical research.
You will integrate a natural-language conversational AI system for exploring biomedical metadata into data portals, developing APIs and packages.

Core Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain web-based software for biomedical data discovery and visualization.
Participate in the full software development life cycle, write tests and documentation, and resolve bugs across browsers and devices.
Collaborate with researchers to translate scientific needs into software features and contribute to open-source tools.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, shell scripting, and modern web frameworks like React or Vue.
Familiarity with REST/GraphQL APIs, automated testing, version control, and containerization with Docker.
Experience with data visualization libraries such as D3.js, Gosling, or Vitessce is a plus.

Additional Information:

This is a one-year term position with possibility of extension, working 35 hours per week fully remotely in a Harvard registered state.
