- Work in a hybrid environment (2-3 days in office) near Ann Arbor, MI; Atlanta, GA; or San Jose, CA, or fully remote within the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classify products and software under the Commerce Control List (CCL) and determine ECCNs, licensing, and exceptions.
- Conduct end-use/end-user verifications, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
- Draft license applications, manage BIS submissions, and represent the company before government agencies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of law firm and in-house experience in trade compliance with a focus on U.S. export controls.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership.
- Expert knowledge of EAR, software classification, deemed exports, and FOCI structures.
