Software Engineer, Finance Technology

Role Impact:

• Lead the design and implementation of a modern finance tech stack to enable performant, safe, and compliant financial transactions.
• Build features for payment processing, invoicing, payouts to partners, and tax calculation, transforming the payments platform.
• Contribute to an agentic commerce future by integrating AI-enabled tooling into the existing software ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Staff Engineers and Product to design and build customer-impacting services and features.
• Act as an owner and craftsperson, balancing quality and speed while delivering software.
• Mentor other engineers, contribute to engineering excellence, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of backend development experience with Go, Ruby on Rails, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with API design, SQL databases, and building/scaling payment-processing systems.
• Proficiency with payment service providers (e.g., Stripe, Adyen), understanding payment lifecycles and compliance.
• Quality mindset with automated testing, clean code, CI/CD, feature flags, and production issue triage.
• Collaborative approach with Product and Design to turn ambiguous problems into iterative deliveries.
