We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and scale Sully.ai’s platform-level agentic AI systems within our Engineering Research team. This role combines full-stack engineering excellence with deep expertise in LLM-powered experiences. You’ll design, implement, and optimize core components across frontend, backend, and model integrations, while driving engineering direction in close collaboration with our co-founders.
Build and evolve core backend frameworks, shared services, and developer APIs that accelerate product development. Design and deliver scalable systems that are easy to use, maintain, and extend. Partner with product teams to co-design abstractions that make feature delivery faster and safer. Contribute to service patterns, conventions, and tooling that raise engineering standards across Canva.
As a Backend Engineer, you’ll design and scale the systems that power The Flex — from reservation logic and payments to property automation and data intelligence. You’ll focus on building high-performance APIs, serverless architectures, and automation pipelines that make the platform faster, smarter, and more reliable every day.
