As a member of the Self-Custody team, you will provide a secure non-custodial technology service to enable intuitive experiences moving, storing, and interacting with digital assets and smart contracts. The team is responsible for the self-custody experience, including the management and transferring of digital assets, staking assets, and interacting with onchain smart contracts.

This role is focused on building scalable and reliable Java backend systems that support Canva's branding capabilities, collaborating with front-end engineers, designers and product managers to develop end-to-end solutions. Ensuring high performance and availability of backend services, as well as writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code is crucial to this position. This role also includes participating in code reviews and contributions to team knowledge sharing.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager for the team and collaborates with Staff and Principal Engineers to execute our card platform strategy. Within our team structure, you'll independently execute on features of moderate to high complexity.
