Principal Architect, AI-Native Developer Experience

About the Role:

• Lead the architecture for how BambooHR engineers and AI agents build software together, from tools and context to pipelines and deployment.
• This is a hands-on role on an award-winning product, with a team that lives BambooHR's values and values life outside work.

What You'll Do:

• Set the technical vision and reference architecture for AI-native development, and champion agentic engineering practices across the organization.
• Automate the software development lifecycle with agents, including triage, implementation, review, testing, and remediation, while building knowledge layers for code intelligence.
• Redesign CI/CD for the AI era, modernize developer environments and portals, and govern agent permissions, cost, and quality.

What We're Looking For:

• At least 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 7 in software architecture or staff-plus technical leadership.
• Daily hands-on use of AI coding agents, and experience building production LLM systems including tool calling, orchestration, RAG, and evals.
• Deep experience designing CI/CD, build systems, and developer platforms at scale, with strong SaaS architecture and fluency in PHP, React, and MySQL.
