Engineering Manager, Cloud & Data Security

• Lead a team of security engineers responsible for cloud infrastructure and data security.
• Set the team's technical direction and coach engineers through complex architectural work.
• Own the team's roadmap, people, and outcomes, shifting security left through automation.

A Typical Day:

• Lead and grow a team of security engineers focused on cloud, data, and identity security.
• Drive the roadmap balancing embedded partnership with high-leverage automation.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to embed security into how Airbnb builds and operates.
• Guide the team through complex decisions across AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and data infrastructure.
• Coach engineers through career growth and technical development.
• Communicate technical direction and risk posture to senior leadership.

Your Expertise:

• 9+ years of engineering experience with 5+ in security engineering and 3+ in people management.
• Proven experience leading security teams in cloud infrastructure or data security at scale.
• Deep understanding of AWS IAM, network security, secrets management, and workload identity.
• Strong technical judgment across Kubernetes, container security, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Familiarity with securing data platforms, access controls, encryption, and data governance.
• Track record of coaching and growing security engineers.
• Strong partnership and communication skills.
