Director, Software Engineering (Loans Lifecycle)

What You'll Do:

• Set the vision and drive execution for the Loans Lifecycle engineering organization at Affirm, encompassing Loans Platform, Ledger Engineering, and Financial Reporting.
• Take ownership of core engineering and business outcomes across the domain, including the loan system of record, ledger pipelines, and financial data delivery to accounting systems.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap for service-oriented decomposition, platform scalability, and database architecture evolution.

What We Look For:

• 15+ years of relevant experience in software engineering and 3+ years managing managers with a track record of high-quality manager development.
• Experience leading multiple engineering teams spanning backend services and big data/batch pipelines, and a successful track record driving key company outcomes.
• Strong technical depth in distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and database architecture at scale, with domain knowledge in financial systems or fintech.
