Senior Software Engineer (Portugal-based Remote/Hybrid)

Contribute to designing, building, evaluating, shipping, and improving Sword’s products through hands-on GenAI implementation and integration. Develop and maintain applications and services that leverage large language models, vector databases, and other generative AI technologies. Implement prompt engineering strategies, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and other GenAI patterns to solve real business problems. Work alongside the Product Managers, ML Engineers, Backend Engineers and Frontend Engineers to define and implement AI-powered features for internal and external users. Requires 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering and system design, strong programming skills (especially in OOP) with Python, experience implementing and deploying production-grade applications and services, and familiarity with API integration. Experience implementing vector databases and similarity search for RAG applications is a plus. A flexible environment where you can control your hours (remotely) with unlimited vacation is offered.
