Software Development Engineer 2

About the Role:

• This is a Software Engineer (L2) position on the Voice Connectivity Trust team, ensuring reliable voice communication for Twilio customers.
• You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to on-call support.

Responsibilities:

• Own, operate, and maintain services in a distributed production environment using Agile methodologies.
• Design and implement real-time services with high throughput and low latency, then verify, deploy, and operationalize them.
• Work closely with leads, architects, and cross-functional teams to document and collaborate effectively.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale distributed applications on JVM-based technologies.
• Strong Java fundamentals with ability to architect, review, and debug code, including AI-generated code.
• Experience with RESTful services, event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS), and cloud infrastructures like AWS.
