Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team with three direct reports across close, audit, and tax functions.
  • Set clear goals, establish accountability, and provide regular coaching to build bench strength and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Model calm, solutions-oriented leadership during peak periods like close and audits to maintain team quality.

Financial Close & Reporting:

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely U.S. GAAP financial statements.
  • Partner with FP&A to reconcile results, explain variances, and ensure alignment between actuals, forecast, and plan.
  • Prepare clear financial commentary and reporting packages for executive leadership, the Board, and investors.

External Audit & Technical Accounting:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, managing audit timelines, deliverables, and issue resolution.
  • Oversee preparation of audit schedules and technical accounting memos for complex healthcare arrangements.
  • Ensure timely communication of significant audit findings and remediation plans to the Audit Committee.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Requires 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including corporate controllership leadership in the healthcare industry.
  • Must have experience with value-based care models, healthcare risk arrangements, and supporting Boards and Audit Committees.
  • Proven track record of driving process change, building scalable processes, and operating as a hands-on strategic leader.
