Software Development Engineer II

About the role:

• The OfferUp Connect team builds the moments that turn a listing into a sale, owning messaging, notifications, location, meetups, and subscriptions.
• Run high-volume Java microservices and streaming pipelines, with experimentation deciding what ships.

What you'll do:

• Design, build, and deploy backend services and event-driven pipelines.
• Integrate with third-party platforms like Braze, Amazon Pinpoint, Apple, and Google.
• Coach and mentor junior team members and participate in on-call rotation.

You'll thrive here if you have:

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Java coding skills.
• Working knowledge of asynchronous, event-driven systems and distributed-systems fundamentals.
• Comfort giving and receiving feedback in code reviews and a bias toward shipping.
