Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and evaluate AI/ML solutions for VA healthcare operations, assessing feasibility and alignment with mission objectives.
  • Conduct rigorous model assessments including accuracy, bias, fairness, and explainability.
  • Support AI governance frameworks and document findings for technical and executive audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience designing and evaluating AI/ML solutions in production or enterprise environments.
  • Equivalent combination of training and hands-on experience; familiarity with federal healthcare preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US and able to obtain VA network access.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with AI/ML governance, responsible AI, or model risk management in regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with VA health data standards like HL7 FHIR or ICD-10.
  • Background in NLP, computer vision, or predictive analytics for clinical workflows.
